Quick Win - Help Them First!

As a creative entrepreneur, selling might feel uncomfortable or overly transactional. Here’s the truth - selling is simply serving others with your talent and expertise! Start by reframing sales as an opportunity to help someone solve a problem or achieve their goals.

Think of one past client or customer who truly benefited from your work. How did your product or service improve their life, business, or project? Write down three specific ways you made an impact. For example, “I helped them gain exposure with a professional brand design,” or “I created a piece of art that brought joy to their home.”

Great! Now, carry that mindset into your next sales conversation. Instead of focusing on convincing someone, focus on understanding their needs. Ask questions like: “What challenges are you facing?” and “How can I help?” This shift positions you as a trusted partner rather than a seller, making the process more genuine and effective.

Use the free app Notion to create a “Sales Confidence Journal.” Jot down how your work serves customers each morning and creates positive outcomes. This habit reinforces a service-first mindset and builds momentum.
