Quick Win - Explain the Why

The next time you share your work—whether in a meeting, on a post, or face to face—resist the clumsy urge to blurt out, “Buy this!” Instead, pause. Allow the moment to settle. Then, in your most deliberate tone, say, “Allow me to share why I created this.”

You see, selling—true selling—is not a blunt instrument, nor is it a desperate plea for attention. It is an invitation. A slow, deliberate unveiling of purpose, vision, and meaning. Your audience does not want to be shoved into a purchase; they want to be drawn into your story.

Why does your work exist? What moved you to create it? Share that—the journey, the inspiration, the spark. Let your words unfold like a scene, deliberate and measured, building curiosity and trust.

Remember this - People buy into the why before the what. Speak as though you’re revealing something precious, and watch as they lean in—captivated, curious, and ready to see your work as more than a product.
